This past Saturday the 13th of August 2016, Zee TV Africa's Miss India South Africa Northern Kwa-Zulu Natal pageant took place in the town of Ladysmith at the ML Sultaan School Hall.

The venue was packed with local supporters and family members who travelled far and wide to cheer on their favourite contestants.

Of the final 16 contestants there were 4 contenstants with non Indian origins, showcasing the beauty of our rainbow nation. The Northern KZN pageant is the first regional pageant of 2016 to display such diversity, it broke boundaries which exceeded all colours and creeds, that gathered for one purpose - to express their love and appreciation for the Indian Culture. This beautiful mix of young ladies consisted of professional career women, university students with Honours in Chemistry, lawyers and Engineers as well as young teens in High school.

The ML Sultaan school hall was enveloped with Bollywood dance, Indian songs and music all night long as these amazing ladies showed off their talents as well as smarts with the question and answer segment. These lovely ladies may be from a small town but they definitely displayed huge talent and potential to be beacons of hope in their communities.

After the Elated Eastern Evening, three ladies outshone their competition and were crowned: Zuliana Harris - Zee TV Miss India South Africa Northern KZN 2016, Karshia Ajudhiya - Zee TV Miss India South Africa Northern KZN 1st Princess, Trisha Rajkumar - Zee TV Miss India South Africa Northern KZN 2nd Princess.

Mr Harish Goyal, the Zee TV Africa CEO was present at this event, not only as an honoured guest but as an esteemed judge as well, and this is what he had to say: "Zee TV Africa is very happy to be part of changing the lives of young South African women. I am very impressed with what the young ladies of Northern KZN displayed tonight and wish them all the best in their future endeavours and to the three finalists, good luck for the National Title. I am anticipating seeing all these rising stars at Gold Reef City on the 3rd of December."
